Created by viaSport BC, The Level the Field Foundation supports expanded access to amateur sport across British Columbia. We believe all British Columbians should have access to sport and feel like they belong.
Inequity in sport participation is a systemic issue. Its impact is disproportionally on lower income and racialized families, women and girls, newcomers, Indigenous communities, persons with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQIA+.
Sport is essential to the wellbeing and culture of British Columbia and a contributing factor to the social and economic health of communities and individuals in all corners of the province. For children, youth and adults, studies show that sport participation plays a positive role in their overall well-being. In addition, sport offers social, cultural, and economic benefits to communities.
Through increased access to sport, communities are safer and more inclusive, which contributes to community stability.
Level the Field strives to create long-term and sustainable change in the amateur sport system to make more British Columbians happier, healthier and better connected to each other.
